SandFest is state’s official sculpting event
      ‘Incredible” is just about the only word that begins to describe the 14th annual Texas SandFest. The official sand sculpting contest for the State of Texas will be held on the beach in Port Aransas Friday through Sunday, April 9 -11. More than 100,000 visitors are expected during the event.

Arts and crafts abound at ArtFest
      L ooking for a one-of-akind handcrafted objet d’art? The annual Art- Fest in Port Aransas is a good place to start. The fifth annual Art- Fest will feature an array of fine arts and crafts for sale Saturday and Sunday, May 15 and 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keeping with tradition, ArtFest will be held in the courtyard of the historic Tarpon Inn, 200 E. Annual golf tourney benefits day school
      The Trinity-by-the- Sea Day School annual benefit golf tournament will be held on Friday, April 30, at the Newport Dunes Golf Club, 4383 State Hwy. 361. The entry fee is $125 per player or $500 for a team of four. The tournament is scramble format, with prizes given for the closest to the hole, long drive and low score. Check in is at noon, with lunch provided.
