Island.

Visitors and residents can learn more about what washes onto the beaches each month by joining a free, guided beach walk.

The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department offers the walks on the fourth Friday of each month. The walks should help satisfy your curiosity about all the "stuff" that washes ashore along the beaches of Mustang Island.

The walks start at 9 a.m. by the red flag next to Horace Caldwell Pier.

Rachael King, director of special programs for the Parks and Recreation Department, suggests wearing appropriate shoes, bringing a container in which to hold the treasures you find, "and getting ready for a morning of fun in the sun."

For further information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 749-4158.
