The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department offers the walks on the fourth Friday of each month. The walks should help satisfy beachcombers' curiosity about all the "stuff" that washes ashore along the beaches of Mustang Island.

The walks start at 9 a.m. by the red flag next to Horace Caldwell Pier.

Pam Greene, community program coordinator for the Parks and Recreation Department, suggests wearing appropriate shoes, bringing a container in which to hold the treasures you find, "and getting ready for a morning of fun in the sun."
