Card-holding library patrons can also access TexShare, a commercial database administered by the Texas State Library for use by participating libraries. TexShare gives immediate access to online databases with full-text articles from popular periodicals, medical resources and health information, academic reference materials and much more. Patrons can also access LearningExpress Library, a comprehensive, interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial course series designed to help patrons—students and adult learners—succeed on the academic or licensing tests they must pass. Resources include EMS, Firefighter, GED, Heath Careers, Law Enforcement, Elementary School Skills Improvement, TAKS Practice Tests and U.S. Citizenship. The library has three computers available (one is reserved for children) offering Internet access. Wireless Internet is also available for patrons who bring in their laptop computers. Approximately 24,000 books, videos, and audios, in the collection and subscribes to 69 magazines. Back issues are available for checkout. Interlibrary Loan service is available to any patron seeking materials that are not in the collection. The Book Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Story Time is every Saturday from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. The library, at 700 W. Avenue A (next door to city hall), is open Tuesday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Wednesday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A meeting room is available for non-profit organizations.
