PACT offers cool entertainment
This summer's playbill includes comedy, variety and melodrama. The nonprofit community theater group presents entertainment year round at the new performance facility on State Hwy. 361 at Sea Isle Drive. All performances are at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Reserve your tickets for "Saturday Night Specials" each Saturday in June. Storytelling, skits, and musicals will all be performed. Melodrama is on the menu when PACT will present "Shoot Out at Darby Wells" on July 31-Aug. 1, Aug. 7, 8, 14, 15, and a matinee on Aug. 16. "Broken Up," a comedy, is slated for Sept. 18, 19, 25, 26, and Oct. 2, 3, 9, 10 and a matinee on Sept. 11.. For reservations for any performance, call (361) 749-6036 between noon and 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, or between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. PACT is a nonprofit organization funded by donations, ticket sales and the annual Fall Back music, wine and food tasting festival scheduled for the Saturday night before Daylight Saving Time reverts to Central Standard Time. Volunteer directors, actors, sound and lighting technicians, musicians, and set construction and costume design volunteers of all experience levels are always welcome. Memberships in PACT also go to the building fund, if so designated. The memberships are tax deductible and are available in a range of prices from $25 for an individual to $50 for a family, $100 for patrons, $500 for angels and $1,000 or more for saints.
