Community theater entertains year ‘round

The fall production, ‘Broken Up,’ a three-act comedic look at divorce by Nick Hall included many Port Aransas youth as cast members and technical support. The nonprofit community theater group presents entertainment year round at the performance facility on State Hwy. 361 at Sea Isle Drive.

This winter’s playbill includes the holiday musical “Rudolph,” on Friday, Dec. 4, “Christmas Revue,” Dec. 11 – 13, and “Greater Tuna,” a comedy, the first four weekends in January. Another comedy, “Blithe Spirit,” is scheduled for 16 performances in February and March.

All performances are at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.

For reservations for any performance, call (361) 749-6036 between noon and 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, or between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

PACT is a nonprofit organization funded by donations, ticket sales and the annual Fall Back music, wine and food-tasting festival scheduled for the Saturday night before Daylight Saving Time reverts to Central Standard Time.

Volunteer directors, actors, sound and lighting technicians, musicians, and set construction and costume design volunteers of all experience levels are always welcome. E-mail pacttheater@yahoo.com to volunteer.

PACT is manned by an all-volunteer workforce that continues to raise funds to complete various aspects of the new theater complex.

Memberships in PACT are tax deductible and are available in a range of prices from $25 for an individual to $50 for a family, $100 for patrons, $500 for angels and $1,000 or more for saints.
