Spring Break draws families, students
Port Aransas is a destination of choice for families as well as college students. From the beaches to the surf, sun, shopping, fishing, dining and more, there is plenty to keep everyone busy -- or not.
S pring Break always represents the year’s first big influx of Mustang Island visitors. Everyone from college students to families enjoy a week of fun in Port Aransas during Spring Break, whether they’re hanging out at the beach or shopping or eating at restaurants in town.
The heaviest concentrations of Spring Break visitors this year will take place during the weeks of March 8-12 and 15-19. Expect the largest crowds the weekend between the two.

Families charter fishing boats to lead them to the catch of the day in nearshore and offshore waters. They scour the dunes and back bays with binoculars looking for birds that live here year round or stop by during their spring migration.
If it’s dining experiences that visitors want, they’ll have no problem finding them. Port Aransas boasts a restaurant to suit every palate, from fast food to fine dining.
Many unique boutiques in town offer a wide range of cool stuff, including clothing, décor, collectibles, jewelry and art.
The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Watering holes in Port Aransas offer music from country and western to rock-n-roll and karaoke.
