Aquarium offers close-up wildlife experiences
      It’s only a one-hour tour, and you won’t end up stranded on Gilligan’s Island when you climb aboard the Texas State Aquarium Explorer. The 100-foot luxury yacht takes visitors for a cruise around Corpus Christi Bay to see the citiy’s shoreline and local wildlife. An aquarium guide will point out historical sites and wildlife.

Visit “Charlie’s” nature preserve
      The great outdoors is especially great at the Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie’s Pasture. The 1,217-acre nature preserve lies on undeveloped land in an area long known as Charlie’s Pasture, generally between the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, Port Aransas Community Park and Piper Channel.

Island wetlands showcased at education center
      A salt marsh lies just off the Aransas Pass, adjacent to The University of Texas at Austin’s Marine Science Institute visitor center. It is one of the more ecologically productive habitats on the planet.

ARK ‘angels’ nurse wildlife to health
      Injured, sick and orphaned animals are rescued and rehabilitated by the hundreds every year in Port Aransas. The Animal Rehabilitation Keep, housed at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute, is responsible for those efforts. The ARK accepts animals that are injured or ill and rehabilitate them so they can be returned to their natural habitat.
