T he Port Aransas Computer Center (PACC) at 430 N. Alister St.

offers free public access

to 26 computers for residents and visitors. All are connected to the Internet and a printer. Office 2003 Professional is installed on all machines. Two scanners and three photo card readers are available.

Visitors to the Computer Center can send e-mail, surf the Internet, play games, shop online, work with photos, make reservations, write resumes, scan documents and photos, print mailing labels, take online classes and more.

Individual computer instruction is available and classes are scheduled when a desire is expressed.

The non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization provides wireless service (Wi Fi) inside the building and outside in the parking lot.

The center is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. To volunteer at the computer center, stop in and fill out a volunteer form.

The center is financed by donations, which help upgrade equipment and provide supplies and licenses for software. There is no paid staff. The center’s recycling program accepts printer ink cartridges, laser cartridges and old cell phones.
