Pack a picnic, listen to live music at free concert series


The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department brings a variety of musical genres to the stage at free monthly concerts April through October. The Patsy Jones Amphitheater at Roberts Point Park is the perfect venue for the free monthly concerts sponsored by the City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department.

Folks are invited to pack a picnic and enjoy the Sunset Sounds concert the second Friday of each month April through October.

The concerts, with musical genres that will appeal to almost all musical tastes, begin at 7 p.m.

The park has plenty of room for dancing, and the kids can play on the nearby playground.

Friendly, leashed dogs always are welcome to the event.

The lineup of entertainers for September and October includes the James Little Band on Sept. 8, and Raeanne and the Ride on Oct. 13.
