For more than 25 years the Port Aransas Art Center has been home for artists and art lovers. The 4,000-square-foot facility offers classes, workshops, drop-in classes, kids’ camps, family activities and more.

Receptions, held the first Friday of every month, mark the opening of a new show in the gallery.Works in the First Friday exhibitions remain on display and for sale for the remainder of the month, coming down in time to make way for the next exhibit. Folks who attend the receptions may enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, wine and live music while viewing the artwork.

Can’t make it to the reception? Each Friday and Saturday, visitors may enjoy a glass of wine and a stroll through the art center gallery from noon to 5 p.m.

Corporate sponsors help fund the art center monthly. Sponsorships,at $1,000 per month, may be shouldered by an individual or business or shared by two or more individuals or businesses.

The art center will hold youth art camps in June and July. In addition, there are monthly Wine, Whine and Design workshops for adults to get together and create paintings step-by-step guided by an artist.
