Port Aransas has been known for its art culture for more than 24 years.

The Port Aransas Art Center offers a place for artists and art lovers to gather to appreciate and to make art.

The 4,000 square foot facility offers weekly drop-in classes, workshops, youth camps, family activities and more.

Artists from around the Coastal Bend and beyond have a home to show and sell their artwork.

Receptions, held the first Friday of every month, mark the opening of a new show in the gallery. Works in the First Friday shows remain on display and for sale for the remainder of the month coming down in time to make way for the next exhibit. Folks who attend the receptions may enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, wine and live music while viewing the artwork.

In addition to the weekly classes and special workshops, there are monthly Wine, Whine and Design workshops for adults to get together and create paintings step-by-step guided by an artist.
