A long-time Port Aransas holiday tradition, the Enchanted Holiday Forest, is taking on a new look this year.
The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department, event sponsor, will host Nautical and Nice: Community Drive-thru Holiday Light Display outdoors at Roberts Point Park.
The city will put up lights in the trees and other lights for the drive-thru event.
Civic groups, individuals, businesses and families are invited to decorate ocean-themed cutouts for the forest. Those who participate are asked to paint and decorate the themed cut-outs wishing the community a happy holiday season or promoting the business, organization or civic group.
The ocean-themed cutouts are shaped like starfish, seahorses, mermaids, shells and sea turtles.
The drive-thru display will be open Thursday, Dec. 8 through Wednesday, Jan. 4.
Admission is free.
From Dec. 8 through Dec. 14, the public will vote on Catch of the Day, first-through third-place and community choice, Winners will be announced at the Santa in the Park event on Thursday, Dec. 15.
