Mustang Beach Airport is located on Piper Boulevard, off State Highway 361 in Port Aransas.

The runway at the airport is 3,450 feet long, and plans are afoot to add a 680-foot “runway safety area,” though no construction date has been announced.

The runway safety area isn’t considered to be an extension of the runway, but it can be used by a plane for taxiing purposes or if a plane overshoots the runway.

The airport’s fueling equipment has been replaced after being ruined by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017.

The airport also has new lights and weather observation equipment, installed after the old gear was wrecked by Harvey.

Overnight parking costs $5 per night for single-engine aircraft and $10 for twin-engine planes.

Long-term vehicle parking costs $100 per year.

For more information, call airport manager Randy Hansen on his cell phone at (361) 331- 0532.
