Some folks look at the Lynn Gavit Memorial Marsh Bird exhibit in the foyer at City Hall features birds and animals that can be found here, as well as information about different institutions in town.
It’s not a big room, but it’s packed with information about Port Aransas.
The “Discover Port A” display in the foyer of the Civic Center tells us all about the University of Texas Marine Science Institute, Port Aransas Independent School District, Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce, Port Aransas Museum and other local institutions.
The display includes audio and video presentations on the town’s institutions.
In addition, the foyer is the home of the Lynn Gavit Memorial Marsh Bird exhibit, featuring animals indigenous to this area.
The Civic Center is part of the City Hall complex, 710 W. Ave. A. The foyer is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except during the noon hour, when it’s closed for lunch.
